How to Perm Hair
Many people look fantastic with their newly permed hair. Some people
are not the types who will spend a lot of money just for hair perms, so
it can be assumed that some people do it at their very own house. Here
is how you can perm hair by your own. To start off you need to know
about perms. The major reason for many people to perm their hair these
days is to be able to keep up with the times. Most girls get a hair perm
to impress their boyfriends and give themselves a new makeover.
The Make Over
So, if you want to impress your dream man and get a whole new makeover
done, you should consider doing a perm. When you perm you can keep your
long hairstyle as well. Here are the steps on how to perm hair at home.
The procedure
You
may have some ideas on the things we need in perming hair, however, let
us have our own version of the things we need. You need to have a home
perm solution or product kit, rods or hair benders, hair comb, hair
brush, medium or large hair clips, blow dryer and a body cape. Now we
can start the steps on how to perm hair at home.
• Washing your hair with a shampoo before starting the procedure is a
must. Then dry your hair thoroughly, then apply a pre perm solution to
your hair then rinse after.
• Always wear a protective glove before starting the procedure.
• An important thing is to look for someone who could help you because
it is a tough task when doing it all by yourself.
• Now with the help of your comb, try to separate small sections of
hair, about half an inch a part then use your hair clips to separate the
sections steadily. Try to ask a help from your buddy or friend to clip
the hair at the back.
• The next step will be rolling the separated section using hair
rollers, benders, or rods, Place the hair sections at the end papers
(already available in the hair perming kit) and then roll each section.
Just make sure that the hair is smooth and damp before rolling each
section. Avoid the hair perm solution and always keep the hair wet with
water in this stage.
• Put on the drip guard and body cape to avoid contact with the
solutions on your body parts.
• Apply the perm solution to each of the rolled section of your hair.
Never leave the solution for future use. It is not meant for that.
• Follow this up by allowing the hair to set as instructed on the hair
perm kit. This will vary to the type and length of the hair but normally
hair will set in around 30 minutes.
• After 30 minutes is over. Rinse the hair properly for about 3 minutes.
Let the rollers and hair benders in place. Then pat dry your hair with
your towel.
• Now remove the rods and hair benders and then rinse the neutralizer
with totally warm water.
• Now you can start on styling your hair after blow drying it.
